    - reduce card fraud
  • Thermal clamshell printer
    - prints quickly and quietly with easy paper change (just open the lid and insert a new till roll)
  • CCD barcode reader
    - enables quick product recognition and emits safe light source
  • 2200 mAh rechargeable battery
    - long-life battery powers the solution
  • Magnetic swipe card reader
    - enables fast acceptance of credit/debit cards via swipe and signature
  • Data transfer

  • Infrared (IrDA) port
    - used for transferring data between SkyPads within the aircraft, e.g. between master and slave units

This configuration can be extended to include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®, thereby enabling wireless networking within the aircraft and wireless data transfer between stationary aircraft and your back office system.

SkyPad is a ruggedised robust unit that withstands 1 metre drop tests and has passed environmental testing to RCA 160D specifications.

SkyPad and SkyTrader are part of the Clue® Trader family of airline solutions.

Key Features

  • Ruggedised all-in-one unit
  • Portable and light-weight unit
  • Collection of orders whilst crew members are on the move through the cabin - SkyPad can be carried around the aircraft by hand and the whole sales cycle, from product selection to receipt printing, can be done facing the customer
  • SkyPad can be used mounted on a fixed surface or a trolley, enabling hands-free operation
  • Withstands 1 metre drop tests and has passed environmental testing to RCA 160D specifications
  • CCD barcode reader emits a safe light source; it is mounted underneath the printer and points forwards rather than out of the side. BOM worked with Fujistu to develop the mounting for the CCD barcode reader to replace the standard laser one
  • It is a corporate machine and thus is less prone to theft
  • Ability to use other software applications, e.g. SkyWeb or third party applications such as ticketing software
  • Wireless method (GPRS) to transfer data to and from aircraft which removes the need for Bonds to process CF/PCMCIA cards
  • Physical methods for transferring data to and from aircraft, including CF/PCMCIA cards
  • This SkyPad configuration can be extended to include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®, thereby enabling wireless networking within the aircraft and wireless data transfer between stationary aircraft and your back office system.
