Key Features

  • Ruggedised trolley-based unit
  • Detachable and light-weight handset
  • Hands-free operation enables easy product handling, e.g. scanning barcodes
  • Crew can use separate handsets to take orders on the move through the cabin and share a single docking station
  • Withstands 1 metre drop tests and has passed environmental testing to RCA 160D specifications
  • CCD barcode reader emits a safe light source that is directed upwards
  • Handset houses a PDA which ruggedises the PDA, and makes it a corporate machine and thus less prone to theft
  • Ability to use other software applications, e.g. SkyWeb or third party applications such as ticketing software
  • Wireless method (GPRS) to transfer data to and from aircraft which removes the need for Bonds to process CF/PCMCIA cards
  • Physical methods for transferring data to and from aircraft, including CF/PCMCIA cards and Pods (combined battery and memory units); Pods reduce the number of items being transferred and are less susceptible to theft
  • Handset enables PDAs to be issued to crew members for corporate or personal use
  • Handset can be adapted to house different makes of PDA
  • This SkyPort configuration can be extended to include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®, thereby enabling wireless networking within the aircraft and wireless data transfer between stationary aircraft and your back office system
