Cyprus Airways and Eurocypria implement Clue® Trader (with Inventory Control)
May 2004
SkyTrader, running on the SkyPad, went live in May 2004 for both Cyprus Airways and Eurocypria Airlines. Both airlines use RAM cards to transfer the flight data.
When looking for a ground system, one of the key requirements was for a stock control module. As both airlines run their own bond, it was crucial to have a system that fulfilled all their requirements in terms of inventory control. Therefore, working closely with both airlines, we developed the Inventory Control module. The baseline philosophy behind the GroundTrader Inventory functionality is being able to record the movements of stock and always having the stock levels on hand. As no two bonds are the same, it was considered unwise to build a model of a bond within GroundTrader. GroundTrader allows all warehouses, stock areas, rules and restrictions to be defined and set up by the user (using the Stock Movements dialog). This allows maximum flexibility and also allows user to model the bond as close to the real world as possible.
Cyprus and Eurocypria operate a very successful pre-order business, so another requirement of the system was to be able to handle pre-orders. Passengers can order on the web or over the phone and the information is transferred to GroundTrader. This information is passed to the bond for bar packing purposes and to SkyTrader for selling purposes. The user interface for both GroundTrader and SkyTrader is easy to use, and once the information is in the system the rest of the process is automatic, which means that only minimal human intervention is needed.
GroundTrader interfaces to Cyprus and Eurocypria's flight planning, accounts, payroll and clearing house systems.
