Key Features
SkyTrader is a point-of-sale (POS) system, available as a handheld unit or a trolley-based unit, which provides a total onboard sales service for airlines, including inflight shopping, food and beverage sales and cabin services. SkyTrader enables crew to perform all inflight sales tasks simply and efficiently using an attractive easy-to-use interface. The key features of the SkyTrader system include:
- Touch screen technology
- Flight sector information and checks enforced
- Stock level functionality, including:
- Seal recording
- Automatic calculation of aircraft stock levels as sales are made
- Product groups - products are logically grouped enabling easy product selection
- Barcode reader - enabling quick product recognition
- Product descriptions - including pictures
- Sales functionality, including:
- Quick sale and print receipt in less than ten seconds when the passenger has the correct money
- Multiple payment methods that can include any combination of the following within one sales transaction: multi-currency cash, travellers cheques, personal cheques, vouchers, special offers, and credit/debit cards (use the certified Chip and PIN solution, the Magnetic Swipe or the SmartCard Reader as appropriate)
- Print full receipts either automatically or on demand
- Currency conversion
- Access Hot Card lists - minimise fraud
- Acceptance of Frequent Flyer cards

SkyTrader has many facilities that can be turned on/off using the GroundTrader system to suit the specific requirements of each airline.
Clue® Trader hardware can be extended to include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®, thereby enabling wireless networking within the aircraft and wireless data transfer between stationary aircraft and your back office system.
